There was a facetious remark making its way around campus Thursday, with word of the Franklin Pierce Women’s Basketball team’s expected return in the evening, that Johannah Leedham could be found in the friendly confines of The Fieldhouse shooting jumpshots. In actuality, Leedham and the Ravens returned to Rindge around 7 p.m. – still two days earlier than any team member, fan, or reporter alike had planned. Their season unexpectedly came to an end Wednesday night in St. Joseph, Missouri, with a 77-64 loss to Fort Lewis College in the Final Four.

“B.o.B Presents: The Adventures of Bobby Ray”

Released: April 27, 2010
All of hip-hop’s monster names have made a trend of selecting young prodigies to push; Jay-Z unleashed Kanye West, Lil Wayne had Drake, and West developed Kid Cudi. Now, staking further claim in rap’s royalty, Atlanta rapper T.I., fresh out of jail on gun charges, has produced his own protege: B.o.B, aka Bobby Ray.
Sunday night’s 7-4 extra inning home loss to the Navigators had many similarities to Thursday’s loss at North Shore, including the late-game heroics of Cody Dent (University of Florida).
This time it was Dent’s three-run home run in the top of the tenth inning that put the game out of reach for the Muskrats, despite fighting back to load the bases in the bottom of the inning.

Tuesday’s 25 point loss at Saint Michael’s plunked Franklin Pierce Men’s Basketball down to last place in the Northeast-10 Conference, the team’s worst Division II ranking in program history.
Following the 77-52 loss, the Ravens are now 5-18 overall, and 3-15 in the conference. With four games left to play, the team will try to avoid finishing with its worst record since moving to “We’ll play for pride and dignity, and for confidence going into next season,” said starting sophomore guard Eric Jean-Guillaume of the final four games.

Pitching surrenders only 3 hits in shutout
The Laconia Muskrats used dominant pitching and aggressive base running to force their first win of 2011, a 5-0 shutout victory at New Bedford.
On the other side of the field, the Bay Sox did themselves no favors, only mustering three hits, two in the final inning, while committing four errors.
Laconia’s Chris Costantino (Walters St CC) became the fifth pitcher in New England Collegiate Baseball League history to throw a no-hitter, as he blanked the Keene Swamp Bats 7-0 Sunday night. (Muskrats’ broadcaster Casey Williams and Keene’s AJ Berube, long-time college broadcast partners at Franklin Pierce University, shared the call of Costantino’s final out.)
